Sharon G. Plunkett
Sharon Plunkett practiced as a solo practitioner, primarily in the area of real estate transactions, for seven years before joining Taggart, Rimes & Usry, PLLC, in April of 2010. Sharon represents lenders, builders, developers, and individuals in a diverse array of real estate transactions, including commercial development, residential transactions, subdivision development and lending transactions. In addition to her real estate practice, Sharon often represents clients in estate planning and probate matters.
Before practicing as a solo practitioner, Sharon practiced with a large law firm in the Jackson area where she gained a wide range of experience in many different areas the law. She provided business planning advice and services such as contract drafting and negotiations for all types and sizes of businesses, from small family-owned operations to publicly traded corporations. Sharon also closed large commercial real estate transactions, and litigated in the areas of construction law, probate matters and general business claims.
Sharon received her law degree in 1996 from Mississippi College, where she graduated magna cum laude and in the top ten percent of her class. During law school, Sharon served as Executive Editor of the Mississippi College Law Review and was selected for publication in the Law Review. Prior to receiving her law degree, Sharon received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from Mississippi College, where she graduated magna cum laude in 1993.
Sharon has received a BV ® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. This rating is based upon confidential feedback from attorneys in the legal community who have worked with Sharon on a professional basis, but who are not coworkers. Martindale-Hubbell ratings are often used by attorneys for referral purposes to ensure that a client’s needs are being met by other attorneys with the highest professional and ethical standards. A BV® Peer Review Rating is the maximum rating a lawyer can receive who has been admitted to the bar for less than ten years and is a rating which indicates high to very high legal abilities and very high ethical standards.
Sharon also taught classes at Holmes Community College in Real Estate Law, and has served as President of the Flora Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Madison County Chamber - Youth Leadership, and as a board member of the Mississippi Hunter Jumper Association and the Flora Zoning and Planning Board. She is a graduate of Leadership Madison County, and is currently the Campaign Chair for Madison County Republican Women.
Sharon resides in Flora, Mississippi with her husband, Keith, and their two sons, Isaac and Rickey.
